Social Media Marketing in 2020-2021: Benefit for Startups in Chitwan

The new year is right around the corner. And Most of the Business are already prepared because there are many complexities and business are evolving day by day but the costumers are limited. To reach the customers we need to go with different options and digital marketing is one of the best solution to work with. And there are actually more interesting trends that will affect your marketing that no one is really talking about. So, what are these trends? What’s going to happen in 2021?

Social Media Marketing will Evolve

  • Facebook marketing
  • Twitter marketing
  • Instagram marketing
  • LinkedIn marketing
  • Pinterest marketing

One of the most amazing things about social media marketing is how much it has evolved in such a quick timeframe. Something that barely existed a decade ago has become an inescapable necessity. One of the easiest ways to track this evolution is through the metrics used to measure marketing success over the years.

A decade ago, social media was largely uncharted territory—essentially free digital real estate for anyone to claim. Businesses that were on social media had a focus on narrow KPIs, such as obtaining more followers and growing their network, or simply just keeping their online profiles up-to-date.

As social media channels grew and increased in variety, content marketing gained more popularity amongst online marketing professionals. The social media strategy of businesses started to move from “vanity metrics” as marketers felt the pressure to demonstrate an ROI for their online efforts. Content marketing, such as blog posts and other content forms, were used to entice people back to the company website, where they could be turned into leads and sales. This meant the metric of choice was conversions, and the focus was more on sales.

  1. Both technology and customer expectations have advanced: Ten years ago, social media was less mobile—people needed to access their social media accounts via awkward feature phones or regular computers. Times have changed. According to Pew Research, only 35% of Americans owned smartphones in 2011, and that number has now risen to 77%. Customer expectations have advanced in tandem with the technology, with 42% of customers who complain on social media expecting a response within an hour. Has your social media strategy kept pace with your audience’s expectations?
  2. The customer’s voice is now as loud (or louder) than your company’s voice: In the early days of social media, companies were the broadcasters and customers were the audience. Now, the customer has a voice as loud as yours, and what used to be your audience has become your conversation partners. With the changes in algorithms on channels such as Facebook, your announcements get downgraded in visibility, but your conversations with your audience are still included in their message alerts (and the feeds of all their friends and followers). Basically, friendly is the new social media strategy.
  3. Data caught up with hunches: Many people had hunches about the value of customers, but you can now prove that engaged customers are worth significantly more to your company over time than your unengaged ones. Data and numbers are the heart of any good social media strategy. It turns out that being friendly and conversational is an amazing marketing tactic, as it builds engagement in your audience.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reminded that government had already formed the advertisement board for the implementation of the law. All concerned stakeholders are therefore urged to implement the Act in letter and spirit, otherwise Ministry would take punitive measures.
The Act has banned the Nepali media to use foreign advertisement with dubbing. Similarly, the associations that did contract with foreign channel for the broadcast with down link were provided a year’s time ensure clean feed.

Top Social Media Marketing Trends To Pay Attention To In 2020

2020 Will Be The Year Of The Voice Strategy

The majority of people searching for information on the web still trust search engines but the way people search for information online is changing.
Increasingly, people are using voice search on their smartphones, tablets or voice assistants (like the Amazon Echo or Google Home devices) to search for information on the internet.
According to comScore’s forecasting, 50 percent of searches will be performed through voice functions in 2020 and the majority will be done without even looking at a screen.
Just as marketers have optimized content for web 2.0 and mobile, they will have to start optimizing content for voice search as well. To quote NewsCred, “If you’re a marketer, “What’s the Alexa strategy?” will be a question you’ll be expected to answer.”

Mobile Responsive Websites Are A Must

I can hardly believe I am still singing this same tune! But just in case, the message hasn’t been 100% absorbed, let me say it again.
Without a mobile responsive site, not only are you losing out significantly in the organic search rankings, but Google has made it very clear that it will penalize sites that are not mobile responsive.
Google says 61 percent of users are unlikely to return to a mobile site they had trouble accessing with 40 percent visiting a competitor’s site instead.
If you haven’t implemented a mobile-first strategy yet, make it an urgent priority in the coming year.

Messenger Apps Will Continue To Evolve

Did you know that more users use social messaging than actually the social media itself — especially younger millennials?
There are now more people using the top four social messaging apps (WhatsApp, Messenger, WeChat, and Viber) than the top four social media apps (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
Facebook Messenger alone is on the phones of over 1.2 billion people, with Facebook saying that there are now more than 2 billion messages sent between businesses and people on Messenger each month.
As the use of social media messaging platforms grows, the potential for improving customer experience will also expand exponentially.
The combination of messaging platforms with chatbots powered by artificial intelligence (AI)will make it possible for companies to engage in more relevant, personalized and helpful customer conversations at scale.

Video Content Is Here To Stay

Video is long past the status of a hot new trend, but it still remains an important trend in social media marketing.
If a picture says a thousand words, a video tells a million.
Video marketing can help you tell your story in a more entertaining, educational and inspiring way so if it’s not already part of your strategy, get on board with video this coming year.

TikTok Continues Its Meteoric Rise

With more than 800 million monthly active users and a median age of 16–24, TikTok continues its incredible rise.
To quote Hootsuite’s social trends report for 2020: “Whether or not it lasts, TikTok’s popularity brings valuable insight into the future of social culture, content, and collaboration. Social marketers should keep an eye on TikTok while using these insights to adapt their strategies on established networks for the next generation on social.”

Stories Will Continue to Grow In Popularity

Nowhere is the concept of stories more evident than on Instagram where over 400 million people use Stories daily. Introduced as a sort of successor to Snapchat’s “self-destruct” style of content, stories are no longer seen as a novelty. At this point, they’re a staple of Instagram itself.
Similar to Instagram Stories, Facebook Stories — user-generated slideshows and video collections — are short (around 20-seconds) pieces of content created on your smartphone and available for up to 24 hours.
